Pennsylvania Pollinator Protection Plan Published
Center for Pollinator Research members gathered together with several organizations with interests in pollinators throughout Pennsylvania, including non-profit organizations, clubs, University interest groups, government agencies, beekeeping organizations, and relevant industries, to prepare a revised document on the state of pollinator practice and needs for their health through the Pennsylvania Pollinator Protection Plan (P4).
This plan provides updated advice on best practices for pollinators, including for beekeeping, pesticide use, and providing pollinator forage and habitat. The final chapter includes recommendations for what is currently needed in the areas of policy, communications, and research on pollinators, with line items developed from discussion across stakeholder groups. This serves as a document to facilitate decision-making for pollinator support and provides the public up-to-date information on the state of pollinators and how best to support them in Pennsylvania.
